Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Wednesday reviewed the progress of the mega redevelopment project at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Kataka and the development of Hanuman Vatika in Raurkela at a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan.
The meeting focused on strengthening SCB’s infrastructure and transforming it into a world-class healthcare facility. According to the review, construction of four new clinical blocks and one residential block at the SCB Medical campus is progressing rapidly. The residential block is almost complete, while the four clinical blocks are expected to be completed by June next year.
Majhi directed officials to identify a suitable location and submit a proposal for construction of an additional medicine block at the hospital. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the multi-level car parking (MLCP) facility and other supporting infrastructure being developed during the first phase of the project. The parking facility is aimed at easing traffic and parking-related difficulties faced by patients, their attendants and doctors visiting SCB Medical College and the nearby Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre. The CM directed officials to expedite construction of the new clinical infrastructure and improve the areas along both sides of the Taladanda Canal adjoining the hospital.
