Coach Hager seeks early momentum

Bhubaneswar, Jan 17: Kalinga Lancers’ newly- appointed coach Mark William Hager is wary about the Uttar Pradesh Wizards’ strength, but stated that his side is well-prepared to give a tough challenge to any opposition in this edition of the HIL.
“We have had some fruitful training sessions. Two practice matches have also helped us identify our shortcomings and work accordingly. Now we are working with some clear cut strategies for Monday’s game,” hager said after a light session with the boys at the Kalinga Stadium here, Sunday.
However Hager is a bit concerned about the defending and the striking ability of the team. “In the practice matches, we were very good in the midfield. But our defence appeared a bit vulnerable. Our strikers also did not find right rhythm,” he said. “We have tried to address those areas and hopefully we will manage to ease out the rough edges,” Hager informed.
The Kiwi said that he is pretty satisfied with the team in hand. “We have number of new players. But all of them are talented and determined. So we will definitely be a tough nut to crack on the field,” asserted Hager.
Talking about the opposition, Hager said, “They are a pretty strong outfit with some good strikers in their rank. But we are equal to the task and we will give them a good run for their money.”
