Keonjhar: To ensure proper implementation of KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) Yojana, the district administration of Keonjhar held a preparatory meeting Tuesday.
Collector Ashish Thakare laid stress on including all genuine beneficiaries in the programme. KALIA is aimed at pushing agricultural growth in the state and diminishing poverty.
Officials concerned were asked to go in for massive public awareness drives in villages. Posters, wall paintings, banners and hoardings will be put up at important places and on buses and auto-rickshaws.
Red and Green boxes will be put at each village of the panchayats to receive forms and complaints from small and marginal farmers.
Meanwhile, two data entry operators have been appointed in each LAMPS to feed forms and complaints of the farmers.
Under KALIA, small and marginal farmers will be paid Rs 25,000 in five installments. Landless people will get Rs 12,500; famers if disabled or old, will get Rs 10,000.
Life insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh will be provided for landless families.
