Balasore: A first-year college student lodged a police complaint Thursday, alleging that a married man drugged and raped her at Karanja Bindha village near Khantapada in this district July 28.
She took four days to file the complaint because she was waiting for justice from the village court.
The accused has been identified as Kanhucharan Jena of Soro.
In the complaint, the victim alleged that Jena tricked her into his house when she was on her way to college in Gopalpur. He also gave her intoxicants and then repeatedly raped in an inebriated state.
After the victim’s complaint, a village court was convened. When the court failed to deliver justice to her, she went ahead and filed a complaint at the Khantapada police station.
The girl has been sent for medical examination. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
According to reports, Jena is a married person and has two children.
