Udala: Police foiled a child marriage at Radhe under Udala block in Mayurbhanj district Sunday. According to reports, a youth of Uttar Pradesh, Pramod Kumar Singh, was going to marry a minor girl at the village.
Police got a tip-off and raided the girl’s house. Police detained the youth and collected birth-related documents of the girl. The police got the family sign an undertaking which stated that girl would not be married off until she attained marriageable age.
The child development project officer visited the village.
