Bolangir: In a shocking incident, a young couple was caught red-handed in objectionable position while being intimate inside a forest here in this district Friday.
Local youths spotted the two in a compromising position and harassed them, it was learnt. The came to the fore after a video of the incident, supposedly recorded by one of the assauler and uploaded on social media went viral.
No police complaint has been lodged in this connection. Police took suo moto cognizance of the incident and launched a probe. The incident comes despite police advisory to check circulation of obscene pictures and videos on social media.
Probe reveals, the footage was shot inside Matkhai reserve forest under Bolangir forest division. Locals spotted the unidentified man and woman and filmed them in the act.
The youths can be heard harassing the couple. While one of them threatens to kill them, the other suggests parading them naked in the village.
The woman can be heard begging mercy and crying for help. She offers money to the captors while claiming the man to be her husband and even asked them to beat her if they want but not embarrass her. Her male partner also accepted their fault for being intimate inside the forest and said both of them are feeling humiliated.
When contacted, Bolangir SP K Siva Subramani said that district police have not yet received any formal complaint but efforts are on to identify the place of occurrence and action will be taken accordingly.
