Bhubaneswar: Hosts 3G Artist group facilitated the launch of seventh edition of seven-day National Exhibition of Contemporary Art titled Doodle at Lalit Kala Akademi here

with their respective works of art.
Formed in 2013, the 3G art group is a consortium of artists from Tripura, Assam and Orissa. Now, artists from several other states are also showcasing their creations, claimed Soumya Ranjan Nayak. Tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda, accompanied by Mayor Ananta Jena and artist
Ramhari Jena, inaugurated the event. He indicated that the state has been mulling utilising the artists’ talents to decorate streets, flyovers, and paint walls of two playgrounds in the city to promote tourism and culture. Jena said street art is one of the best ways to beautify the smart city. ‘‘We are planning to use creativity of the artists to give the city
a smart look.”
Tripura artist Bidesh Kumar Kar’s painting titled Destructive Sources symbolises the society in which junk and garbage destroy the environment. A painting utilizing mixed media is titled ‘Remembering the Old’ by Arun Pallur of Orissa essays to exhibit how human beings fail to recollect the past.
The painting has a variety of colours as ‘memories’ which remain in our mind like blurred vision. Kuber Barik’s Slum Treachery encompasses an environment littered by junk material. Orissa artist Krishna Das showcased a female foeticide in her painting which has an embryo in a womb surrounded by insects and worms.
