Kendrapara: Carcass of a 10-foot-long saltwater crocodile was found floating in Brahmani river at Nalita Patia under Rajnagar block in this district Thursday.
Some local residents first spotted the body of the reptile with marks of injuries on its body. On being informed, forest officials reached the spot and fished out it.
While the exact reason of the death is hard to be ascertained, we are waiting for the post mortem report, said an official. However, locals blamed the use of fishing nets in the river for the reptile’s death.
