Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Crown Sporting entered the semifinals of the U-16 Umakanta Garabadu Memorial cricket tournament beating Pragati Sporting by three wickets in the third quarterfinal match at the BEM HS Ground here Saturday.
After electing to bat first, Pragati scored 92 for the loss of eight wickets in 35 overs with Shreyas Goutam (29 n o, 57b) emerging as the highest scorer. Man of the match Niraj Dwibedi (3/12) bowled well for Crown.
In reply, Crown knocked off the target in 25.2 overs for the loss of seven wickets with the help of a responsible innings from Prasant Singh (34, 32b). Bikash Nayak (3/18) was the best bowler for Pragati Sporting.

In reply to Madhya Pradesh’s first innings total of 487, Orissa were bundled out for 200 and were asked to follow on, on day three of their four-day U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy cricket tournament at the DRIEMS Ground in Cuttack, Saturday.
In their second innings, Orissa were 100 for the loss of one wicket at stumps. Biswajit Bhuyan (29 batting, 89b, 3×4) and Sandeep Patnaik (22, 55b, 4×4) were at the crease at stumps. Saurabh Rawat (41, 176b, 8×4) was the only batsman to be dismissed.
Earlier Orissa resumed their first innings at their overnight score of 68 for four and added 132 runs to their total. Rajkishan Patel (67, 86b, 10×4, 2×6) and Subrat Samal (53, 89b, 9×4) hit half centuries to give a semblance of respectability to Orissa total. Md Arsad Khan (3/48) and Nikhil Sikarwar (3/50) bowled well for the visitors to orchestrate Orissa’s downfall.
Orissa dominate
Orissa bowlers dominated proceeding as they bowled out Jharkhand for 175 on day one of their four-day U-23 match at Bokaro, Saturday. Ankit Yadav (3/31) and Tarakanta Samal (3/50) bowled well for Orissa.
In reply, the hosts were 58 for the loss of one wicket at stumps. Ankit Yadav (32 batting, 82b, 5×4) and P Rosan Kumar Rao (11 batting, 53b, 2×4) were occupying the crease at the close of play.
