Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to the state next month, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Monday reviewed the administrative and security preparedness for the visit and asked the officials concerned to make foolproof security arrangements and maintain protocol.
Sources said an IG rank officer would be engaged to look after the security arrangement during Modi’s visit starting February 6. Modi is scheduled to arrive here from Vishakhapatnam airport by a special IAF plane at 10.45 PM February 6. He would proceed directly to Raj Bhawan immediately after arrival and spend the night there.
Modi would inaugurate the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) campus in the city at 9 am the next day. He would also address a small gathering of students on NISER premises.
After the function concludes at 10 am, he would leave for Puri at 10.55 am to have a darshan of the deities at Sri Jagannath temple, where he would spend 45 minutes.
Modi is scheduled to reach Paradip around 1 pm February 7. He would visit the IOCL refinery and dedicate it to the nation at 1.30 pm. He would also address a gathering at Paradip after the IOCL event. He would then return to Bhubaneswar and leave for Vishakhapatnam.
Monday’s meeting chaired by the CS was attended, among others, by director general police (DGP) KB Singh, state home secretary Asit Tripathy, officials of NISER, the district collector and SP of Puri. PNN
