Cuttack: An unidentified woman’s body was recovered from the Kathajodi riverbed in Brahmanigaon village under Baranga in Cuttack district Friday morning.
Locals spotted the body buried under the river sand and informed the police. After reaching the spot, police began the process of recovering the body and launched an investigation into the incident.
It is suspected that the woman was murdered and her body was buried in sand. Parts of the half-buried body found on the Kathajodi riverbed were also seen to be partially burnt.
The identity of the deceased woman is yet to be established.
