Bhubaneswar: In the wake of some untoward incidents reported from various places across the state over rush for inclusion in KALIA scheme, the state government Wednesday extended the last date for submission of applications to January 15.
Earlier, the date for submission of applications for the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme was January 10.
The decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here Wednesday. The CM decided to postpone the last date of application in view of the interest of the farmers.
Likewise, the second phase of submitting applications will be from January 25 to February 5. The date of the third phase will be decided later. The CM also said that it should be ensured that every eligible farmer is included in the scheme.
Meanwhile, the agriculture secretary, Saurabh Garg, has directed all the Collectors to appoint district level observers for each block in their districts to supervise proper execution of KALIA scheme.
The Collectors were asked to appoint senior officers tike ADM, PD-DRDA, PA-ITDA, sub-collectors and other senior officers for the purpose.
Further, Garg instructed the officers to inform PSUs and Central government offices for exclusion of their employees from the draft farmers list displayed in GP office by depositing the Red form.
“In case of urgency/non-availability of the forms, photocopy of green and red forms can be utilised to avoid any adverse situation,” he advised.
