Day-2: CBI probe on at Rayagada, Tikiri

Rayagada, Feb 26: The nine-member CBI team, probing the murder case of Sikhya
Sahayika Itishree Pradhan of Tikiri upper primary school of the district ,
continued its investigation on the second day Thursday at Tikiri and Rayagada in two groups.
While SP BK Singh examined the documents which were brought from Tikiri Wednesday, staying at the camp office at the collectorate, a two-member team led by DSP MK Pathak went to several offices and local sub-jail to hold discussions with the government officials.
The sleuths enquired with the jail authorities about Netrananda Dandasena, the prime accused in the case who is lodged in the jail. The team went to the office of block education officer in the afternoon and collected the bank account number of Itishree in which her salary was being deposited.
The members also went to the office of Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan and sought some explanations from district project coordinator Prashant Kumar Padhi.
Another group of four sleuths led by CBI inspector RD Sharma started the second day’s probe at Tikiri. Besides talking to the IIC of Tikiri police station, the team quizzed the present headmaster of the school and asked the address of the teachers and staff of the school who had joined after 2008. Later, the sleuths interrogated Dandasena’s two wives Abha and Manorama for about two hours.
CBI officials put up public notices at places like Jagannath Temple, boundary wall of upper primary school, in front of the office of the headmaster, Tikiri police station, bus stop and other important locations of the area seeking information from common citizens who have any knowledge about the case.
The informer can contact the
investigating officer on telephone numbers 011-24368636/24368640/24368641 or can send their affidavits on fax number 011-24368639, mentioned in the notices. It has been learnt that the officials would quiz Raji Majhi, the owner of the house where Itishree was staying till she was set afire.
