Bhubaneswar: State government will examine the recommendations of the Ashok Tripathy Committee on various issues faced by teachers and take appropriate decisions, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said Monday.
The committee, constituted to examine the problems and demands of teachers engaged in primary, upper primary, high school and higher secondary education, submitted its report to the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan here. The committee was initially constituted December 6, 2025, under the direction of the Chief Minister and was subsequently reconstituted February 3, 2026. Receiving the report, Majhi said the government would carefully examine the recommendations and take appropriate decisions on the issues raised by the teachers.
Official sources said representatives of 104 teachers’ associations from different categories across Odisha had appeared before the committee and placed their demands and concerns. The committee held 90 meetings to deliberate on various demands of teachers and submitted 79 reports to the government, the sources said. Committee chairman Ashok Tripathy and co-chairman Sudarshan Nayak presented the recommendations before the Chief Minister during the meeting.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, and Secretaries of the Higher Education and School and Mass Education departments attended the meeting.
