Bhubaneswar: Registration for admission to degree colleges in various streams for the academic year 2018-19 will start June 12.
As per a notification issued by the Higher Education Department Friday, the registration process for admission to the degree colleges, including self-financing courses and Sanskrit (Shastri), would start June 12. Students can apply for the courses both online and offline by filling the Common Application Form (CAF).
Admission to degree courses will be conducted in two rounds. The students can apply for minimum five options and maximum 20 options in a CAF. The applicant can pay the CAF fees through the online payment gateway.
However, there will be no CAF fees for applicants belonging to divyangs (persons with disabilities) and transgender categories.
The online applications would be available on the website www.dheodisha.gov.in June 12 (6 am). Those who want to apply offline have to collect CAF available at the nearest Student Academic Management System (SAMS) resource centres from the same day (10 am onwards), the notification said. The last date for online registration is June 26. The deadline for submission of both online and offline CAF at any of the SAMS resource centres along with supporting documents and fees is June 27.
Similarly, the government has set June 29 as the deadline for online CAF validation and digitisation of offline application form in e-Space by the SAMS resource centres.
The first round merit list would be announced July 3 (11 am) and the admissions would take place between July 4 and July 7, the notification said.
The second round selection merit list will be announced July 11, for which the admission process will be between July 12 and 13.
This year, the government has decided to start the classes of Plus III first year students July 16. Last year, the class was started July 19.
As per the notification, after the completion of two rounds, the vacant seats will be filled up through spot admission at college level only through offline. The cut-off mark for the spot admission will be three marks below that of the second round of admission.
In case the seats reserved for SC and ST candidates remain vacant, they will be allotted to general category students. The entire process of degree college admissions will be completed by July 21.
