Bhubaneswar, August 9: Dhirendra Kumar Das of Bhadrak emerged champion of the IIIrd Umesh Memorial All Orissa Chess Championship, which concluded here, Sunday. Dhirendra took the top honours with 7.5 points after the end of the ninth round. Prakash Chandra Sahoo and Santosh Kumar Sinha also finished with 7.5 points each, but they had to be satisfied with the second and third place finish respectively on the basis of tie-breakers.
