Bhadrak: Ramakant Rout, a differently-abled person of Rambhila panchayat in this district, knocked at the doors of collector Laxminaryan Mishra, seeking financial help for the treatment of his younger daughter Sasmita, who was diagnosed with a puncture in heart.
A Cuttack-based cardiologist pointed out the defect in the girl’s heart. Lakhs of rupees are needed to cure the girl of her ailment.
Narrating his ordeal, Ramakant said, “Due to financial constraint, I could not afford the higher education of my daughter after she passed HSC. Now, how can I arrange such a whopping amount for her treatment? I have requested the collector at the grievances hearing camp seeking financial help from either the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund or the Red Cross Fund.”
Taking note of his plight, the collector ordered for pension for him while district emergency officer Rajendra Kumar Panda assured him of help from Red Cross Fund. PNN
