Khurda: A fire broke out at Prananath College’s Maitree Bhawan conference hall here Thursday while the teachers were busy evaluating the answer sheets of Plus-2 examinations. There were also no casualties reported in the mishap. The answer sheets also were also not damaged.
On being informed, fire personnel reached the spot and doused the fire.
According to Manoranjan Senapati, Principal, Prananath College, smoke was seen billowing out from the switch box in the conference hall. He immediately alerted the others and called up the fire personnel. They reached the spot and got the flames under control quickly.
While the exact cause of the mishap is yet to be ascertained, a few attributed it to short circuit.
