Boudh: In a bone-chilling incident, a 15-year old Dalit girl was kidnapped by two youths and subsequently raped with her mouth stuffed and hands tied inside an isolated hut at Bapujinagar area here in the town. The victim was picked up while she was returning home from a grocery shop Sunday noon.
The matter came to the fore after the victim crawled to the main road with her limbs tied and got spotted by locals who rescued her and alerted the police.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, police nabbed the accused identified as Pintu Badhei, a mason of Shyamsundarpur village and his aide Tuku Kumbhar (24) Monday. According to the complainant, the two gagged the girl and took her to an isolated place along the main road while she was returning home from a grocery shop.
The two stuffed her mouth and tied her hands when she screamed for help. Pintu raped the girl while Tuku stood guard outside the hut. Later, the two fled while leaving the girl in critical condition. After gaining strength, the girl crawled to the road after which she was rescued by passersby. Then the girl was handed over to her family members.
The girl with her father approached the town police and lodged a complaint Monday.
“The accused duo has been arrested and will be produced in court after a medical examination,” Boudh IIC Subash Chandra Raiguru said.
