Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida Wednesday reviewed the ongoing development and comprehensive beautification works at the renowned Shikharchandi temple in Bhubaneswar. Ahead of the upcoming Navratri and the winter tourism season, she directed officials to expedite the project so that devotees and tourists can access improved facilities. Parida, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, Tourism Department Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary Balwant Singh, senior officials and public representatives visited the temple to review the progress of the ongoing works. During the review, detailed discussions were held on the comprehensive development plan for the temple premises, including beautification, widening and improvement of approach roads, drinking water facilities for devotees, parking arrangements, rest areas and other essential amenities.
Officials informed the meeting that the first phase of the project is targeted for completion before Navratri and will be opened to devotees. Singh apprised Parida of the progress of various works and the coordination among different departments for timely implementation of the project. The Deputy Chief Minister said the government is committed to developing Shikharchandi temple as an important spiritual and tourism destination. She directed the officials to ensure that all construction and development works are completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining quality standards and ensuring convenience for devotees and visitors.
