Baliguda: An elderly man committed suicide by consuming pesticide in Simanbadi village near Daringbadi in Kandhamal district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Khanam Nayak.
Family members found Khanam in a critical condition on the terrace of his house. He was immediately rushed to the Daringbadi community health centre.
Confirming pesticide consumption, the doctors referred him to Baliguda Sub Divisional hospital. However, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
Family feud is suspected to be the reason behind the act.
