Naktiduela: A fifty five-year-old man died as he was struck by lightning at Kutasingha village near here in Sambalpur district. He was Harsha Naik. Naik was sitting at his house verandah when, all of a sudden, there was heavy rainfall. Lightning struck the house, killing Naik on the spot.
The impact of the hit was such that the house wall caved in on the head of Naik. Luckily, his wife, two daughters and three sons escaped unhurt. Police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem to the Redhakhol government hospital.
