Balasore: A 60-year-old man was killed after a portion of a wall of his house collapsed on him while he was asleep at Pakharabada village under Sadar block in this district late Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Gokuli Behera (60).
Due to incessant rain triggered by the severe cyclonic storm Titli, the mud walls of the house had become weak leading to collapse of a portion on Behera and crushing him to death.
Though his family members rushed to the spot and tried to rescue him, he was dead by the time. Sources said the kin of the deceased couldn’t take the body to hospital for autopsy due to the deteriorated road condition caused by the heavy downpour.
After getting information, police reached the spot and lodged a case of unnatural death in connection with the incident and started an investigation.
