Bhubaneswar, April 2: Election campaigns in eight Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) which will go to polls April 7 came to an end Sunday.
Star campaigners and senior leaders of BJD attended several public gatherings and rallies across these eight ULBs.
While BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended a huge public rally in Paradip, other campaigners like Anubhav Mohanty, Akash Dasnayak and others campaigned in other places. Besides, senior leaders Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Pranab Prakash Das and Debasish Samantray also campaigned.
“I expect our party to do well in the elections on the back of the work that the BJD has done,” Patnaik said.
The BJP and Congress also campaigned vigorously. Congress took the help of leaders such as Jacob Pradhan, Kishore Patel, and Naba Das to attract voters while the BJP roped in Union minister Jual Oram and Basant Panda to campaign for their candidates.
Municipalities of Paradip, Sunabeda, and Belpahar and notified area councils (NACs) of Balimela and Redhakhol and three new NACs Dharm-agarh, Tusra and Daspalla will go to polls April 7.
