Athagarh: The body of an engineer girl student was fished out of river Mahanadi in Kandarpur under Athagarh police limits in Cuttack district Monday.
The deceased was identified as Sephalika Mohapatra. According to sources, the woman came on a scooter and parked it on the Jatamundia bridge in Banki at around 12.45 pm.
She later jumped into the river. While the reason behind the suicide was yet to be ascertained, police reached the spot and started an investigation.
The police also seized the scooter.
