Epileptic newspaper hawker drowns in Jajpur

Jajpur: A news paper hawker drowned in a pond at Balichandrapur area in Jajpur district Monday morning, when he was on his way to distribute newspaper.

The deceased has been identified as Thuria Senapati (42 years).

Sources said, the Senapati had been suffering from epilepsy. Monday morning he was moving to Balichandrapur market to collect newspapers for distribution by crossing a road near a pond.

Suddenly, he developed a bout of attack and slipped into the pond  as a result of which he drowned in the water.

Locals searched him in the pond but could not find him. Later, they called the fire brigade team and informed about the incident. On being informed the firefighters recovered the body of newspaper hawker from the pond and sent it for post mortem to the nearby hospital.

Police also reached at the spot and registered a case of unnatural death after investigation.
