ERA to expand operations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: ERA Foundation, an educational rating and assessment foundation, plans to start entrance examinations for engineering colleges in the state.

The company, which conducts entrance examinations for more than 190 engineering colleges in Karnataka and over 25 universities, is hopeful to have tie-ups with private universities in the state.

ComedK and Uni-GAUGE are the entrance examinations for engineering and under-graduate programmes, respectively. The company also offers mock tests for registered students to give them practise before entrance examinations.

“We are in talks with some of the private engineering colleges and universities to include them in our common entrance examination platform. It is too early to name those colleges as most of them conduct their own examinations but with our examination platform the seats will be open for students across the country,” Era Foundations chief executive officer P Murlidhar said.

The company, which has started receiving entries for ComedK and Uni-GAUGE, is preparing for its common examination registration for engineering in private colleges in Karnataka.

The company, which started the initiative three years ago, currently conducts common entrance for 190 engineering colleges.

“As per our vision 2020 we are hopeful to increase the count of our private colleges to 300 and association with universities to 100, which will enable us offering 50,000 engineering seats,” the official added.

The company, which has two centres in the state, has plans to increase the number of centres in Odisha in near future, he added. (PNN)
