Bhubaneswar: The Khadi Mahotsav 2026, inaugurated January 31 and continuing till February 14 at the City’s IDCO Exhibition Ground, is drawing large crowds with its unique collection of hand-woven traditional khadi products.
The exhibition, organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), has brought together artisans, entrepreneurs and khadi institutions from across the country.
It features more than 100 stalls representing khadi, village industries and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) units, offering visitors a glimpse of India’s diverse traditional craftsmanship.
Visitors to the exhibition praised the artisans for their dedication to crafting traditional wear.
Many also lauded the initiative for showcasing authentic craftsmanship and providing a platform to learn more about the artisans’ work.
“It is a great initiative to showcase their work. The Pata saree, Sambalpuri saree and other handwoven fabrics beautifully reflect the artisans’ dedication,” a visitor said. Similarly, Mohammad Sadik, representing the Resham Khadi Sahyog Samiti Ltd (RKSS) stall from Bihar, expressed happiness over the appreciation they received.
“We have opened our stall here for the first time, and people love our handwoven garments.
Business is running smoothl,y and we look forward to doing more,” he said.
