Bhubaneswar: Some miscreants Tuesday tried to kidnap a girl student from near Lingaraj Temple Road railway station while she was returning home. The girl, who is pursuing graduation in a city-based college, is a resident Resham village on the outskirts of the city.
According to sources, the girl after the end of her examination at the college was waiting for train at the railway station to return home Tuesday afternoon. The miscreants, allegedly hailing from the same village, reached there by a red-coloured motorcycle and asked her to come with them which she resisted. The girl screamed when they pulled her in an attempt to abduct her. Hearing the noise, the onlookers rushed to the spot following which the miscreants snatched away her gold chain and mobile phone. They later threw away the mobile phone a few metres away while took the memory cheap and gold chain worth Rs 50,000 with them.
