Fake employment firm dupes job aspirants, 5 held

Bhawanipatna: The Bhawanipatna Town police in Kalahandi district busted a fake employment firm Monday morning and arrested five persons belonging to the organisation for making false commitments to provide jobs to many unemployed youths.

According to a Town police official, over 60 job aspirants from different districts alleged that they had been duped of lakhs of rupees by the firm, on pretext of providing them jobs in renowned companies.

The firm officials had asked the youths to undergo training for 22 days after which they would be offered jobs. However, the job aspirants subsequently paid Rs 22,000 each against the firm’s commitment of giving job with a salary of Rs 20,000 per month to each of them.

Some local youths lodged an FIR at the Town police station in the morning. The duped job aspirants alleged that they have deposited Rs 22,000 each as security money with the firm for getting jobs.

It was also mentioned in the FIR that the youths were kept in house-arrest and not being allowed to speak even to their families.

Swinging into action, Town police conducted a raid on the firm’s office leading to arrest of five persons in connection with the fraud.

On the other hand, the firm’s officials refuted all allegations clarifying that the business firm concerned is into marketing of products.

Detailed investigation is underway, the police official informed.
