Aska: A man Tuesday was arrested along with two of his accomplices on charge of killing his son and dumping his body parts in a septic tank at Jeypore village under Aska police limits in Ganjam district.
They have been identified as the deceased Babula Patra’s father Banamali Patra and his aides Tara Prasad Das and Pratap Patra of the same village. A case of murder was registered and the three were produced in court. Meanwhile the main accused, Santosh Patra, the brother of the deceased, was on the run since the incident.
The murder was the fallout from property dispute, Aska IIC Santosh Kumar Jena said.
According to police, Babula often created nuisance in the family after drinks. Fed up with his behavior, his wife left him and stayed with her parents. He then stayed with his father Banamali who worked as a labourer in Surat and had returned home.
Soon, they were joined by Babula’s younger brother Santosh who was out on bail on charge of killing his wife. In a drunken state, Babula broke into an altercation with Santosh for spending money on him for his bail.
Santosh with his father and two aides strangled Babula to death. Then, they chopped off the body parts and dumped these in a septic tank. After foul smell emanated, locals alerted the police who recovered the mutilated body parts from the septic tank on the Republic Day. PNN
