Sundargarh: A female elephant was found dead at Jarada forest range in Ulusura reserve forest of Sundargarh district.
Bonai DFO L M Patra and ACS have reached the spot and are inquiring into the incident.
Patra said though the exact cause of the death is not known, the elephant might have been killed after coming in contact with the live electric wire laid to lift water.
It can be mentioned here that Tuesday a tusker was electrocuted after coming in contact with live electric wire laid by poachers to hunt wild boars in Baradunguri forest near Mahada village under the Binka Forest division in Subarnapur district.
