Bhubaneswar: A major fire broke out at a transport warehouse in Jharpada under Laxmisagar police station here Sunday.
Though no casualty or injury was reported, goods including transport materials, seat foam, rubber spares, clothes, incense sticks, turpentine, plywood, colour material, chemicals and machinery were gutted.
On receiving a call at around 6:20 am, personnel of Bhubaneswar Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an hour-long effort. Four fire tenders were also pressed into service to control the fire.
An electrical short circuit in the establishment is suspected to have triggered the fire that caused
loss of several lakhs of rupees, Assistant Fire Officer Saroj Kumar Behera said.
