Cuttack: The NCC Group Headquarters, Cuttack, Saturday felicitated five outstanding cadets for their exemplary achievements across diverse fields, celebrating their discipline, courage, and service to the nation.
The ceremony was held under the leadership of Group Commander Colonel Satyabrata Swain.
The cadets who brought laurels through their dedication and perseverance include Cdt Bishal Palai of Paradip College (3 NU NCC), who won a Gold Medal in the All India Yachting Regatta (AIYR) 2025; L/Cdt Akash Kumar Sahoo of SJECT, Naharkanta (3 NU NCC), who received the VCOAS Commendation Card for outstanding contribution; Sgt Puspanjali Mohapatra of Rama Devi Women’s University (1 Odisha Girls Bn NCC), who bagged Gold Medal in Application Service Shooting at TSC Girls 2025, New Delhi, and at IDSSC 2024; Ex-Cdt Priyansha Hota of DAV Unit VIII, Bhubaneswar (1 Odisha Girls Bn NCC), who clinched four Gold Medals in the 9th East Zone Shooting Competition 2025 while representing Odisha and was earlier adjudged best cadet of Cuttack Group; and Cdt Rajesh Grahacharya of LN Mahavidyalaya, Korua (1 Bn NCC), who showed exceptional courage and humanity by attempting to rescue a drowning 70-year-old man at Kalubada Bridge, Korua, exemplifying the true spirit and values of NCC.
Speaking on the occasion, Swain lauded the cadets for their exemplary commitment, resilience, and achievements, noting that they stand as role models for their peers and truly embody the NCC’s motto of “Unity and Discipline.”
The felicitation ceremony also underscored the vital role of NCC training in nurturing responsible citizens and future leaders of the nation.
