Nabarangpur: The Nabarangpur Divisional Forest Officer has suspended Bipin Kumar Harijan, a forester posted in the Maidalpur Section under Dabugaon Range over allegations of unauthorised tree cutting and financial irregularities.
The action was taken after Harijan’s response to a show-cause notice issued by the forest department was found unsatisfactory. The allegations pertain to the period when he was posted in the Jharigaon Mohara Section.
According to the allegations, Harijan had cut trees without permission along the Deobandh-Jamadarpada road during his tenure in the section.

The department initiated proceedings over the alleged unauthorised tree cutting and financial irregularities and sought an explanation from Harijan through a show-cause notice.
His response did not satisfy the department, following which DFO ordered his suspension.
