Cuttack: Former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court Justice VA Mohta passed away Tuesday evening at Akola city in Nagpur. He was 85. He had delivered several landmark judgments during his tenure as the
Chief Justice of High Court from 1994 to April 25, 1995.
Born April 26, 1933 at Akola in Maharashtra, he practiced law after completing his LLB degree from Nagpur.
He was elected twice as member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra. He was elected as the vice chairman of the council in 1974.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court in 1994, Justice Mohta was the judge of Bombay High Court.
