Bhubaneswar: Four minors, including a differently-abled, were raped in separate incidents in the state Thursday. The incidents were reported from Salepur, Cuttack, Jaganathprasad of Ganjam and Baliapal of Balasore Thursday.
In Cuttack, a minor girl is now battling for her life after she was subjected to sexual assault by a 60-year-old man. Madhupatna police Thursday arrested the accused on charges of raping a minor girl at an ice factory. The accused has been identified as Jagannath Mahapatra of Kendrapara.
In another incident, a 10-year old differently abled girl was allegedly raped by a man at Dagara under Baliapla police limits in Balasore Thursday. A complaint was lodged with police while the accused Manmath Jena is absconding.
In yet another such incident officials of the Child Line Thursday lodged a complaint with Salipur police claiming that a minor girl was raped at Baghapada village. However, the girl’s family denied the claim.
Besides, another such incident was reported from Jaganathprasad of Ganjam district, where a minor girl of Budurungu village under Jaganathprasad police station was allegedly kidnapped and raped. Police arrested accused Ashok Pradhan, son of Satya Pradhan, in this connection.
