What urged you to take up motivational speaking?

14612448_1454612377899529_7205436873316172365_oIn today’s fast-paced world, everyone needs motivation. People have abilities and hidden talents but their emotional issues stop them from reaching their goals in life. Emotional issues may seem small but their impact is tremendous. I want to help people overcome their emotional issues. I am different from other motivational trainers in that I combine spirituality with psychology. I target both the mind and the soul to reach a solution.

What is the core philosophy of motivation?

I believe in ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ which means I am the creator of my own universe. I believe we are all infinite beings capable of infinite possibilities but we limit ourselves because we don’t realise our worth. All of us are part of that one Lord, all of us are His children. If he is that powerful, I am sure we too have some divine power. Humans need to believe in themselves and tap into that power.

What is the difference between thinking positively and being delusional?

Thinking positively is believing in oneself and moving forward; being positive means having faith. Being delusional is believing in something untrue. It’s like following an illusion and reaching nowhere.

What sets you apart as a motivational speaker?

I am a spiritual person and a tarot card reader. I used to do readings for my clients and, after a certain time, realised that solutions to their problems didn’t lie in the cards but in their own minds. So I started working on their minds.

How did your career as a motivational trainer take off?

Initially there was a hitch. People didn’t want to accept that they create their own problems which can only be solved if they are willing to embrace radical changes in life. This is because Indians still believe solutions lie in mantras or yantras. But I was firm and kept working on my clients. I was happy that my efforts bore fruit.

What are the skills a motivational speaker must possess?

Constant learning, constant updating and preparing the text as per the need of the client are skills a good motivational speaker should possess. You can’t explain the concept of the universe to a 70-year-old who believes that god lives in temples and some kind of fast or pooja will solve their life’s problems.

What is the kind of audience you have to deal with?

My audience is always different. Sometimes they are students with fresh positive energy and at other times they are corporates who are majorly stressed and burdened. Officers working for the government are also under tremendous pressure and many of them are my clients. I always design my talk as per the requirements of my audience.

How is your approach different from that of others?

I just love my work and I am very passionate about it. I want to touch as many lives as I can. I don’t want people to suffer. I want them to live life to the fullest because life is beautiful.

Can you dwell on one or two instances where your intervention helped people realise their potential?

I remember there was a girl who was going through a phase of bad relationships. She experienced some very bad relationships. Her previous relationships had left her in a state of shock and pain. I started working on her mind, told her that she was responsible for everything in her life and that she had to deal with her own problems. All of us have past karmas and on the basis of that we meet people. The onus is on us to finish our karmic learning quickly and move on in life with a detached mind. I gave her few affirmations to work on and then slowly things changed. Subsequently, she met the right guy, married him and is today blessed with a baby. We have false beliefs in our subconscious mind which affect our life negatively. We can change those beliefs by doing positive affirmations and when we do that miracles happen and our lives change for the better.
