Bhubaneswar: An ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh will be provided to the families of the persons who lost their lives in the landslide in Gajapati district, said Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi Sunday.
He said, “Of the 75 families residing in the Barghar village under Rayagad block in the district, 68 families were evacuated safely by the district administration due to the severe cyclonic storm Titli as a precautionary measure.”
The seven families who refused to shift to a safer location later became victims of the landslide, Sethi said.
According to reports, the rescue team recovered the bodies of 15 persons killed in the landslide.
