Ganjam: Police late Friday night claimed to have busted a gambling den in Berhampur city and arrested four persons from the spot in connection with the incident.
The arrested people have been identified as Manoj Sahu (34), Tarini Charan Sethi (27), Santosh Kumar Sahu (34), and Niraj Kumar Mishra.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Berhampur police raided room no-6 of Hotel Moti here and busted the gambling den.
According to a source in the police, the cops led by SDPO BP Pati and IIC Suresh Tripathy conducted the raid and apprehended the accused involved in the illegal activity. During the raid the cops also seized Rs 66,000 in cash from the spot.
That said, the suspect who was running the gambling den is still at large.
A case has been registered against the accused persons under relevant sections of the IPC. They have been forwarded to court, the source added.
