Jajpur: A girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by a group of miscreants for 28 days inside a house in Jajpur district.
Later, the miscreants threw her into Kharasrota River Sunday.
The matter came to light after the girl swam ashore and reached Routpur village near Kuakhia.
She narrated the entire events to the local residents.
The girl was abducted by some anti-socials August 20 when she had gone to Madhuban Bazaar. She was later confined in a house by the kidnappers and repeatedly gang-raped, the girl alleged.
They threw her into Kharasrota river Sunday night in an attempt to kill her.
On being informed, police reached the spot, recorded the rape survivor’s statement and sent her for medical examination.
