Khurda: In a shocking incident, a Plus-II girl student of Prananath Autonomous College in Khurda allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself after being forced to pursue Science by her family members, police said.
The deceased was identified as Swapnapriya Baliarsingh, a resident of Jankia Gadasahi village under Kanas Police limits in Khurda district.
Sources said, the girl was residing in a private hostel. The matter came to the fore after the girl was found hanging inside a private hostel. The girl had left a suicide note before taking the extreme step.
As per a suicide note, reportedly left by the deceased, family members had allegedly forced her to opt for Science stream in Plus II but the girl couldn’t handle the pressure and took the extreme step.
