Bhubaneswar, Feb 25: Communication and language labs will soon come up in 12 government colleges and eight private institutes across the state with the government having given the work order to the Centre for Advanced Communication, IIT-Kharagpur.
In March 2013, the higher education department had signed an MoU with the premier institute for setting up the labs in government and private colleges. These are to be fully automated and digitalized with each lab having a computer for each student, projector screens and other demonstration equipment, sources said.
IIT has already developed software that will be installed in the computers with the help of which students will learn languages and develop communication skills, sources said. The government colleges where the labs are to be set up include Government Degree College, Koraput, Government Degree College, Sundargarh, SMG Women’s College, Phulbani, Rajadhani Degree College, Bhubaneswar, Government Degree Women’s College, Baripada, Government Degree Women’s College, Bolangir, JKBK Degree College, Cuttack, Government Degree Women’s College, Dhenkanal, Niranjan Degree Women’s College, Aska, Government Science Degree College, Chhatrapur, Government Women’s Degree College, Bhawanipatna and Panchayat Degree College, Bargarh. The eight private colleges are Remuna Degree College, Remuna, UN Degree College, Soro, RCM Degree College, Khallikote, Tarini Thakurani Degree Mahavidyalaya, Ghatagaon, Ekamra Degree College, Bhubaneswar, Maharshi Degree College of Natural Law, Karanjia Autonomous Degree College, Karanjia, Bhubaneswar and Vyas Nagar Autonomous College, Jajpur.
