Athgarh: Tension prevailed at Samasarpur under Athgarh police limits in Cuttack district after two groups attacked each other over a political rivalry Thursday night.
The fight took an ugly turn after they began pelting bombs at each other. Many houses and vehicles were blown away while many suffered injuries. However, no casualty was reported.
Based on complaints by both the groups, police registered two separate cases and launched a probe. According to sources, local police had called two groups over amicably solving a fight in the village. However, a group left the police station after the other group delayed in arriving at the police station.
Later, the group went and arranged a feast in an orchard. This led to an altercation between the two groups. Soon, the miscreants began pelting bombs at each other.
