Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling reviewed the malaria and dengue situation across the state during a virtual meeting held from Lok Seva Bhawan Thursday. He interacted with District Collectors, Commissioners, and CDMOs from various districts to assess ongoing efforts toward disease eradication.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to tackling public health challenges, the Minister urged officials to work in coordination to intensify efforts against malaria, dengue, and other vector-borne diseases. Minister Mahaling inquired about the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs) and the arrangements for Indoor Residual Spray (IRS).
He instructed district collectors from malaria-prone areas to pay special attention. The Minister also emphasised preparedness for the pre-monsoon season and effective implementation of measures during the rainy season. To tackle malaria effectively, he advised strengthening screening, especially in residential schools, malaria-prone regions, and among migrant workers. He also called for increased testing.
