Bhubaneswar: With temperatures continuing to rise across Odisha, there is unlikely to be any significant change in the weather over the next week, the Regional Meteorological Centre said. According to data, eight cities recorded temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius Friday. Puri recorded the highest temperature at 36.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Nayagada at 36 degrees Celsius, Bhubaneswar at 35.6 degrees Celsius, Baleshwar and Chandbali at 35.2 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda at 35.1 degrees Celsius, and Baripada and Paralakhemundi at 35 degrees Celsius each. The weather office said there are currently no favourable weather systems for rainfall, resulting in little possibility of rain.
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the north Andaman Sea around October 12. Under its influence, a low-pressure area may form October 13 and could intensify into a depression over the south Bay of Bengal or adjoining central Bay of Bengal around Oc tober 15. As a result, rainfall is likely around Dussehra. However, there is no forecast yet on whether the system will intensify further. Global weather models have indicated that the possible depression could move towards the south Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts.
