High-end eatery soon at BPIA Terminal I

Bhubaneswar: Biju Patnaik International Airport’s (BPIA) Terminal I is all set to be transformed into a high-end restaurant offering wide variety of food to satisfy gastronomical appetite of its valued customers.
In the event of passengers waiting for a connecting flight to catch or flight delay, they should not get worried if they feel hungry as their choice of food or beverages would be made available at BPIA with a renewed manner.
While the present facility offers limited food items, the new facility, giving a feel of mall-type culinary experience, will have a wide range of palatable dishes starting from McDonald’s Pizzas to Orissa’s very own ‘dahibara-aludam’. While talking to Orissa POST, BPIA Director, Suresh Chandra Hota, said the new facility is coming up over an area of 720 square metre. ‘Customers’ satisfaction’ and ‘wallet-friendly quality food’ are the things that top the priority list,” he said adding the court will definitely have some selected Orissan cuisine with a touch of typical art and culture, giving a feeling to the outside visitors that they have already landed at a culturally rich place that has a variety of delicacies waiting for them.
With the awarding of tender has been finalised, the facility will be set up in about two months, it was learnt.
“Apart from being known as temple city, it is also a treasure-trove of typical Oriya mouth-watering vegetarian and non-vegetarian snacks and main course. And we will try and ensure that the flyers enjoy all that we have to offer,” an official said.
“We are frequent flyers. It is a fact that we are getting bored having the same limited variety of food items. And sometimes, when we search for some different variety of quality evening meals on our way home from airport, we fail to get them.
