Bhubaneswar: The Chandrashekharpur police Thursday arrested a high profile burglar from Sarala Nagar in Laxmisagar area and seized valuables worth lakhs of rupees from his possession.
The arrested person identified as Sanjay Kumar Nisank (30) is a resident of Otri Tala Sahi under Khurda police station.
Sanjay was arrested following a complaint lodged by one Swapnajit Mukherji. Police launched a manhunt to nab the accused and later traced his location through phone tracking. The police seized 778 grams gold and 796 grams silver ornaments, Rs 39,504 cash, 43 mobiles phones, 29 watches, six laptops, a bike, LED TVs, tablets and other valuables from his possession.
Police said the accused is involved in a series of burglary cases in several areas including Chandrasekharpur and Infocity area.
