It’s the season for hoops. The biggest accessory trend of 2018, hoop earrings had some major moments earlier between the 60s and the 90s.

Hoop earrings can match every occasion and outfit. It’s a fail-safe way to elevate your looks. Besides, they add a retro effect to your overall look. Being of different shapes and sizes, they suit all faces.

Recently, many celebrities have been spotted showing off hoop earrings with eye-catching outfits. For example, Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja wore asymmetrical hoops with a ripped denim sari during the Veere Di Wedding promotions. Hoop sizes need to be chosen according to the shape of the face and jawline, so that you’re wearing a pair that best accentuates your features. You can take cues from Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and others on how to style the hoop.

Earring is an important accessory and fashionable girls always want to be up to date with the ongoing fashion trend, says Monalisha Bishoi, a Cuttack based fashion designer. “Hoop earrings, circular and semi-circular, are always trendy. They give a retro look. There are various types of hoops available like oversized hoops, classic, medium sized hoops, sculptural hoop, pearl hoop, Bardot hoop, sature hoop, tiny hoop, hoop drop, disproportionate big hoop, thick gold extra-shiny ones, super-sized thin ones, enamel ones in red and white, and studded ones.”

“Oversized hoop earrings are best for a cool hipster look. Big sleek hoop earrings give a boho look. They go well with casual wear and party wear. Some geometrical shaped hoop earrings add a very modern and elegant vibe to outfits. Mix and match different hoops to be noticed. Simple hoop earrings are good for an everyday casual look,” adds the designer.

“This season, hoop earrings have made a comeback,” says Amruta Kar, a Bhubaneswar based fashion designer. “They come in varied versions and add to your style quotient.”

When it comes to styling hoop earrings with outfits, we have three options for you:

The casual look

Hoop earrings can be paired with your casuals to add flair. Choose medium sized hoop earrings, flaunt them beautifully.

The glam look

Choose big sized hoop earrings for a perfect glamorous look as you dress up and step out to party.

The boho look

Hoop earrings have their roots in bohemian fashion. They reflect the inner gypsy within you. So, this monsoon, go for quirky hoop earrings and experiment with various shapes and sizes to look cool.
