Raveena took a break from Bollywood after 2006 and was busy enjoying motherhood. She gave brith to daughter Rasha in 2005 and son Ranbir in 2007.
She made a comeback with a guest appearance in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, but the film bombed at the box office. She was next seen in Maatr, which is the story of a mother seeking justice after her daughter gets raped.
The first look of Maatr made headlines for its similarlity to Sridevi’s Mom. However, the actor dismissed the comparisons and said that the purpose of Maatr was to spread awareness about crimes against women.
